OFFERINGS ARE INTEGRAL PART OF WORSHIP“And Hezekiah commanded to offer the burnt offering upon the altar. And when the burnt offering began, the song of the Lord began also with the trumpets, and with the instruments ordained by David king of Israel.” 2 Chronicles 29:27 KJV
A demon has been sent from hell to fight the wellbeing of the Church, and that demon is using some Preachers to carry out its mission. Hezekiah was not a Preacher, he was the king of Judah, yet he “commanded” offerings to be brought to the altar during their worship.
Preachers who do not know GOD’s will concerning effective worship speak against offerings and sacrifices during worship. Some Pastors even “market” their church as a Church where they don’t collect offerings or pay Tithes. Believing that will attract members (whom I would rather call clients, because GOD wont stay in such gatherings). They are doing a great evil against themselves, without knowing. Around year 2004, I organized a youth conference in a church at Lagos-Nigeria. I paid for all the costs from publicity to powering the sound systems. And I thought within myself; ‘I wont even ask for offerings from the attendees, so that they do not think I am after their money’. It was a three days programme. Day one came, we danced, jumped, sang, I preached, ministered to them, and closed the service without asking for offerings. On my way home, GOD spoke to me: “did you know you have just prevented the people from being blessed, by not collecting their offerings?” The second day, I had not started preaching when a very young girl of around 11years of age walked up to me; “Pastor, why are you not collecting our offerings? … Because our parents have given us offerings to give.” I sat there mumbling incoherent words out of shame. My pride was brought to the light.
It is arrogance that makes a Preacher say “I don’t collect Tithes and Offerings”. He is not lifting GOD but himself in that service. He is more conscious of his ego, than the demands of effective worship. And they do that because they are funding the ministry with their personal incomes, rather than the sacrificial and willful offerings of the people. GOD doesn’t appreciate such attitudes, He sees them as arrogant.“Give unto the Lord the glory due unto his name: bring an offering, and come before him: worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness.” 1 Chronicles 16:29 KJV. Worship GOD with knowledge, worship Him according to His terms for effective worship if you want Him to bless your gathering.
