YOUR LAUGHTER WILL NOT ABORT THE PROMISE“Then Abraham fell on his face and laughed, and said in his heart, “Shall a child be born to a man who is one hundred years old? And shall Sarah, who is ninety years old, bear a child?” Genesis 17:17 NKJV
No one is more patient with human weaknesses than God Almighty! Think about the fact that God just corrected Abram concerning his mistake with Hagar, and here he is making another one-laughing at God’s promises! God knew it was doubt that made Abram accept his wife’s suggestion, so He came to correct him:“When Abram was ninety-nine years old, the Lord appeared to Abram and said to him, “I am Almighty God; walk before Me and be blameless.” Genesis 17:1 NKJV. Afterwards, God began to tell him mighty things that He would do through and for Abram. Telling him how great he and his descendants would be. Yet, Abram thought, “you must be kidding me!” He laughed at the gigantic promises God was making.
You too might have done the same. I laughed and made a mockery of myself the very first time God showed me a vision of me becoming a preacher. Yet, God understood my reason for laughing. I thought I was not fit… or qualified to be His Minister! Yet, I have been preaching since 2003, and I’m enjoying it!! Halleluyah! In the very next meeting God had with Abraham at his house, his wife Sarah also laughed when she heard God mentioning the fact that she would give birth to a son within a year (Gen 18:10-15). She thought; “no way! That’s impossible!”
What have you also laughed about? Yes! What promise had God made to you that your mind couldn’t process, then you burst into laughter because you thought that was completely impossible? This New Year-2021, God can do marvelous things that you are not even planning for. A lot of us limit God with our “yearly plans”. Yearly plans are good, but they can become prisons that one locks himself in throughout the year. You need to open your heart in order to recieve God’s plan for you concerning the new year. Whatever God has shown you or told you concerning this new year may look unachievable to you, but it is not difficult for God to achieve! Don’t laugh in doubt, laugh for joy and embrace His promise by faith. The One making the promise has introduced Himself to us as-The Almighty God! Halleluyah!!!
