WHAT CHRISTIANS SHOULD DO ABROAD.“Therefore they that were scattered abroad went every where preaching the word.” Acts 8:4 KJV
Through help of God, I have traveled a bit. I have been to several communities in my native country Nigeria. Been to Ghana, Tanzania, many places in Kenya, passed through Rwanda, Ethiopia, and through far away Hong Kong, been to The Philippines in Asia. I discovered that salt is the same every where! Light is also the same every where!! They serve the same purposes from one tribe and race to another!
The Believers who were scattered from Jerusalem went every where preaching the word of God, because in their native community that is what they were doing. They didn’t change vocations or priorities when they relocated. Do Believers today have such attitude? The generation that has materials as its focus won’t see God’s word as something to be spread, even when they have the opportunities of doing it even better. How many Deacons travel abroad to plant a branch of their home churches today? Do they begin a ministry or a fellowship meeting with the aim of spreading God’s word? No! What they do is wear hooded jackets and take pictures in the snow to send home. They wouldn’t even financially support the Mission Works they left at home.
Deacon Philip alone, took the whole city of Samaria, and brought joy there, because he was both salt and light in Jerusalem! He couldn’t do things differently when he got to Samaria. “Then Philip went down to the city of Samaria, and preached Christ unto them. And the people with one accord gave heed unto those things which Philip spake, hearing and seeing the miracles which he did. For unclean spirits, crying with loud voice, came out of many that were possessed with them: and many taken with palsies, and that were lame, were healed. And there was great joy in that city.” Acts 8:5-8 KJV. Hi Travelled Christian! What joy have you brought to that city or country since you moved there? What impact have you made on the natives of that place? Please, change your attitude today. Be a blessing to someone. Start with one person at a time, if you cannot do group ministry. Make the impact of both salt and light wherever you find yourself; because that is your real identity!
