REJOICE… IN SPITE OF THE SHAME
“And they departed from the presence of the council, rejoicing that they were counted worthy to suffer shame for his name.” Acts 5:41 KJV
As an adult, you certainly will not find any reason to be happy after being beaten like a child for what you believe! … it is a shameful thing! But, the Apostles rejoiced and celebrated, because they went through that because of Jesus Christ!
Your own shame for the sake of Christ may not be from actual beating like that of the Apostles. It might be due to an overdue rent of your church. Your own house rent. Propaganda or slander against your church or your Pastor. Inability to materially or financially brag among your family members, e.t.c. If whatever is causing shame or embarrassment along the path of your services or commitments to God is beyond your abilities to control; don’t let them make you sad. Rejoice about them! “Consider it nothing but joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you fall into various trials.” James 1:2 AMP
“… remember the earlier days, when, after being [spiritually] enlightened, you [patiently] endured a great conflict of sufferings, sometimes by being made a spectacle, publicly exposed to insults and distress, and sometimes by becoming companions with those who were so treated. For you showed sympathy and deep concern for those who were imprisoned, and you joyfully accepted the [unjust] seizure of your belongings and the confiscation of your property, conscious of the fact that you have a better possession and a lasting one [prepared for you in heaven]. Do not, therefore, fling away your [fearless] confidence, for it has a glorious and great reward.” Hebrews 10:32-35 AMP. Don’t sit in that dark room in gloom hoping for a pity party, rather get up and throw a praise-party! Rejoicing that you are a privileged partaker of the afflictions of the gospel.
PRAY🙏:
Glory be to God, Halleluyah! Father, I am grateful that you counted me worthy of partaking in the sufferings for the sake of the gospel. I know, that my rewards are great and eternal in Heaven. Therefore, I rejoice, in Jesus’ mighty name! Amen.
