PERFECT OUTSIDE, BUT DEADLY INSIDE
“Now in all Israel there was no one who was praised as much as Absalom for his good looks. From the sole of his foot to the crown of his head there was no blemish in him.” -II Samuel 14:25 NKJV
Be very afraid of people who say “I-don’t-get-angry”. They are trying to create an impression that they are perfect at every thing; please don’t trust them! Even God Almighty gets angry. Beside Absalom’s impeccable beauty that was a talk of the town! He also worked on his demeanor. When Amnon (his stepbrother) raped his sister, Absalom told her “it is okay, he’s your brother, don’t worry about it”-Yet, he killed Amnon after two years! When he wanted his father’s throne (I mean King David); Absalom went to meet the people at the city-gate. He would not let people bow down to greet him, portraying himself to be very humble. He made them believe that he was a good judge and a nice man. He succeeded in buying the people’s hearts with fake love and nice outlook! He eventually ousted King David his father, took his throne, chased him out of the city, slept with his concubines in the public, and hunted for his father’s life!
As a lady or man, you need the gift of discernment all the time. Don’t ever be fooled by good outlooks, kind behaviors, big gifts, and so on. Some men and ladies are like Prince Absalom; perfect outside but deadly inside. People were fooled by Absalom’s outward appearances. They underestimated him. You wouldn’t suspect him or know what he was upto-That’s why Joab immediately killed him when he got the opportunity! Pray about everything! Listen to the voice of the Holy Spirit about people and everything. Don’t follow your eyesight, you will be misled! May you never fall into the hands of those who are perfect outside but deadly inside, in Jesus name! Amen.
