GOD WONT TRADE BROKENNESS FOR OFFERINGS“For You do not desire sacrifice, or else I would give it; You do not delight in burnt offering. The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit, A broken and a contrite heart —These, O God, You will not despise.” Psalms 51:16-17 NKJV
The state of blackslidding is when you feel your offerings will represent you before GOD. You are the most important entity in the sight of GOD, out of the entire universe! Hence His decision to sacrifice His One and only Son to get you. Whenever the devil wants to disconnect people from GOD, he will make them feel that GOD values their offerings very much than He values their souls. So, they would become arrogant towards GOD.
Instead of being sorry for doing wrong, they would arrogantly throw their offerings at GOD. He said; “If I were hungry, I would not tell you; For the world is Mine, and all its fullness. Will I eat the flesh of bulls, Or drink the blood of goats?” Psalms 50:12-13 NKJV. You cannot make GOD rich, He is wealth personified! Neither can you feed the one that feeds both animals, plants, and all humans on earth! You should be spiritually sensitive as a Christian to know when you’re offending GOD, and know how to immediately mend your ways with Him. If He chooses to judge you for your trespasses, your offerings wont stop Him. You are the one He needs, your broken heart, not what is in your hands!
A lady walked into my house one day, with cash rolled up in her fist. She had promised to plant a seed in the ministry before then, so she came to fulfill her promise. I normally would accept the offering and just pray for them. But, that particular day, the Holy Spirit told me; “tell her to go and call her husband for you …that you want to bless the two of them”. Confusion started! She was shocked! I could see the confusion written boldly on her face. I got to discover the cash was stolen from her husband. If GOD preferred the money over her soul, He would accept it without any care for the sin she had committed. “Thus says the Lord: “Heaven is My throne, And earth is My footstool. Where is the house that you will build Me? And where is the place of My rest? For all those things My hand has made, And all those things exist,” Says the Lord. “But on this one will I look: On him who is poor and of a contrite spirit, And who trembles at My word. “He who kills a bull is as if he slays a man; He who sacrifices a lamb, as if he breaks a dog’s neck; He who offers a grain offering, as if he offers swine’s blood; He who burns incense, as if he blesses an idol. Just as they have chosen their own ways, And their soul delights in their abominations, So will I choose their delusions, And bring their fears on them; Because, when I called, no one answered, When I spoke they did not hear; But they did evil before My eyes, And chose that in which I do not delight.” Isaiah 66:1-4 NKJV. He loves you so much, much more than you know it, and He doesnt want to lose you to the devil! Present yourself to Him first, before you offer your sacrifices and offerings.
