SPREAD IT BEFORE THE LORD
“And Hezekiah received the letter from the hand of the messengers, and read it; and Hezekiah went up to the house of the Lord, and spread it before the Lord.” -II Kings 19:14 NKJV
Someone in our ministry got a quit notice from his landlady. He became perplexed! I told him, “bring that letter to Church on Wednesday and spread it on the altar”. We prayed over it, asking God to read it and do something! Few days later, the Landlady called him to say; “don’t worry about that letter, you can stay on in the house”.
God loves openness! He likes us to paint the picture of our challenges to Him in the way that we see them. If you feel scared, tell Him! If you have nothing, don’t come before Him bragging. If you lack ideas, explain to Him, ask for His counsel. King Ezekiah had nothing to hide-He simply spread the letter before the Lord, and He got assisted by Heaven!
Don’t suffer and die in silence! Don’t say, “can’t He see everything, why should I bother asking for His help?” Prayer is God’s medium of interacting with us and our world. If you don’t pray, you’re simply telling God, “don’t worry, I gat this!” You have to present that threat from your enemies to God. Show him that querry from your unreasonable boss. Mention that erratic utility bill to God. Tell him about your child that is not performing well at school. Hide nothing when you come to God! Even if you have sinned, don’t hide it from Him-ask for mercy! *”God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.”* -Psalms 46:1 NKJV
