GOD TESTS, HE DOES NOT TEMPT“Let no one say when he is tempted, “I am being tempted by God” [for temptation does not originate from God, but from our own flaws]; for God cannot be tempted by [what is] evil, and He Himself tempts no one.” JAMES 1:13 AMP
Temptation has one agenda, and that is to make its victim fall. While test is targeted at promotion. “Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him.” James 1:12 KJV
Even though GOD knows all things, He usually test our sincerity and determination to follow Him. He tested Abraham with Isaac, to know if He loved Him more than his only son Isaac. He tested David to see if he would be arrogant about his large army and the large population of Israel, David failed the test! Be careful when you’re “feeling a leading” to do what is contrary to scriptures. It might be GOD testing your determination to stick to His word. Or the devil is tempting you to disobey GOD.
The devil (not GOD), tempts us with what we like. “Let no one say when he is tempted, “I am tempted by God”; for God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does He Himself tempt anyone. But each one is tempted when he is drawn away by his own desires and enticed {by satan}. Then, when desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, brings forth death. Do not be deceived, my beloved brethren.” James 1:13-16 NKJV (paraphrased). Know the difference, and know their aims. Temptations are out to bring you down. But, tests are out to promote you to the next level of glory. Be very careful with your daily choices.
