FEET ON THE GROUND, HEAD IN THE CLOUDS“If then you were raised with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God. Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth.” Colossians 3:1-2 NKJV
That is exactly how real Christians live! Because, by virtue of position, we are sitted with Christ on the right hand of God, in the Heavenly places. But, by virtue of duty, we are on earth, serving our God. We know where we actually belong. We know what our minds are set on.
When we pray for earthly things, it is because we need them to accomplish Heavenly goals. Not because our minds are set on earthly things. Our conversation is Heavenly, but our engagement and services happen here on earth. Our hearts’ desires are to carry out divine mandates. Our hearts are set on high. We desire to do the desires of the Spirit, not that of our flesh. We want to win more souls for Christ. We want to watch the sick recover from their sicknesses. We want to see captives get set free! We want to see the kingdom of our God come down mightily and get demonstrated among humans.
That is why we give our substances. That is why we pray ceaselessly. That is why we fast long hours, and for many days. We want to see His Kingdom come! …and we are actually seeing it indeed come. It is the Christians that are bringing Heaven to earth, through their diligent services to God. If you are a Christian whose desires revolve around earth alone, you need to rerout your mind. You need what I would call “mind-resetting”. Change your focus, readjust your lens. Set your affections and desires on things that are above, not on things on the earth! “If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men the most pitiable.” I Corinthians 15:19 NKJV. Let your mind and head be up there in the Heavens, as your feet walk this earth!
