DON'T FORM AN ALLIANCE WITH GOD'S ENEMIES“But a man of God came to him, saying, “O king, do not let the army of Israel go with you, for the Lord is not with Israel —not with any of the children of Ephraim. But if you go, be gone! Be strong in battle! Even so, God shall make you fall before the enemy; for God has power to help and to overthrow.” II Chronicles 25:7-8 NKJV
Israel at that time was split in two. One was named Judah, and the other part Israel. Judah at that time was pleasing God, while Israel had forsaken Him. So, Judah preparing for war against the people of Seir, gave a 100 talents of silver to Israel, soliciting for their support. So, a Man of God went to the king of Judah and told him: “… O king, do not let the army of Israel go with you, for the Lord is not with Israel —not with any of the children of Ephraim. But if you go, be gone! Be strong in battle! Even so, God shall make you fall before the enemy; for God has power to help and to overthrow.” II Chronicles 25:7-8 NKJV.
As a Christian, before you join people in partnership for ministry, relationship, business, marriage, etc; check first if they have a relationship with God. If they do not have a relationship with God; check, how does God see them! Whoever God has chosen as an enemy will be a bad partner for you! A king of Judah died in a war for this same error! He went with one of the kings of Israel to fight another nation. He died in that battle, because God was against Israel at that time.
You as a Christian have a covering of protection over you. You must be careful whom you bring under your roof! People who speak badly about Ministers of God will destroy your spiritual covering. People who don’t pay Tithes, yet ignorantly speak against those who pay and collect Tithes will destroy your spiritual climate. Of course, you can buy from or sell to unbelievers, but you must know the sensitive areas of your life you cannot take that relationship to. That Man of God told the king of Judah; ‘if you like, say I’m blabbing! Strengthen yourself and go on with them to war. You will end up being destroyed! …because, God will also forsake you!’ When you study the Bible, learn to pick out the people that God doesn’t want you to relate with, and learn to embrace those He has instructed you should work it. It is part of what I call, spiritual smartness!
