DOES GOD GRANT SPECIFIC REQUESTS …?
“And Jabez called on the God of Israel saying, “Oh, that You would bless me indeed, and enlarge my territory, that Your hand would be with me, and that You would keep me from evil, that I may not cause pain!” SO GOD GRANTED HIM WHAT HE REQUESTED.” I Chronicles 4:10 NKJV
A preacher once said ‘GOD doesn’t grant wants, He only meets needs’. If I would explain that statement, it means: GOD doesnt give people their heart desires, He only provides their basic needs. For example, if you asked GOD for a spacious house, He wouldn’t answer you, He would just provide for you a shelter …any house that you can sleep in and wake up from. This is a very wrong way to describe GOD to people.
GOD is very much interested in granting our definite requests and heart desires. The problem with many of GOD’s children is that they focus too much on their natural environment. Something in their minds tell them; ‘that’s too big, GOD might not do that’. John Knox asked for Scotland in his time, GOD gave it to him. Hannah asked for a male child, GOD gave her exactly that (he didn’t give her a female child saying children are the same). Even the rebellious children of Israel who asked for meat, GOD gave them in surplus (even when He knew they didn’t need it)! GOD told David; “I gave your master’s house to you, and your master’s wives into your arms. I gave you all Israel and Judah. AND IF ALL THIS HAD BEEN TOO LITTLE, I WOULD HAVE GIVEN YOU EVEN MORE.” 2 Samuel 12:8 NIV.
The question is, are you even making any definite requests from GOD? Or you just expect Jehovah Jireh to do the needful?! “He knows my needs, why should I ask Him?” That is the attitude of some Christians. They do not pray, or ask for any thing because they believe GOD knows every thing. Whereas the Word says; “You lust and do not have. You murder and covet and cannot obtain. You fight and war. YET YOU DO NOT HAVE BECAUSE YOU DO NOT ASK.” James 4:2 NKJV. Ask now, for those things that you know will bring glory to GOD and fulfill His promises in your life, He will answer you! He will grant you your requests as He granted that of Jabez. Our GOD answers prayers! Our GOD grants people’s definite requests! Make your own requests too, today!!
