“But you must continue in the things which you have learned and been assured of, knowing from whom you have learned them.” II Timothy 3:14 NKJV

In the course of looking for “new revelations” so many Christians have fallen into errors, preaching and clinging unto lies, which eventually turn them into heretics …and eventually, Apostates. Studying is good, and asking questions are good. In fact, a lot of the gospels beginning from Matthew to the book of John contain records of questions and answers between Jesus, His audience, and His immediate disicples.

In your quest for more knowledge, make sure you stay within what you were taught by your Pastor (if you belonged to a Bible-based Church), stay with what has been established by the Prophets and The Apostles of the Lord. Someone once told me he has the “Nazarene Anointing”. As I wondered what he meant by that, he added; “I’m like Samson, I can sleep around and yet retain the anointing!” My question was, did he also know that Samson got arrested and had his eyes plocked out of their sockets with hot knives, and that he was jailed by his enemies for years, all because of his reckless lifestyle of sleeping around? Certainly, that man was being seduced by a lying spirit!

First, your Pastor must be a Sound Teacher of the Word of God, not a teller of personal experiences and “visions”. Because, the Word of God is the only foundation we can all stand upon. Any other ground is sinking sand! Once you grasp God’s Word, hold tightly to it. God Himself desires that you have proper understanding of His Word, and that is why He chooses Pastors for us: “And I will give you pastors according to mine heart, which shall feed you with knowledge and understanding.” Jeremiah 3:15 KJV. If your Pastor is a sound Teacher of the Word of God, stay with him even if his church is small. Stay there and build with him. With the knowledge of the Truth, you can work miracles! Stay within, and continue, in the Truth!
