HOW TO WIN SPIRITUAL BATTLES.
“Then the Lord said to Joshua, “Reach out with the spear that is in your hand [and point it] toward Ai, for I will give it into your hand.” So Joshua reached out with the spear in his hand [and pointed it] toward the city.” Joshua 8:18 AMP
If you are dealing with spiritual matters, focus more on the spiritual than on the physical if you do not want to lose out! God had told Joshua earlier; “… Do not be afraid, nor be dismayed; take all the people of war with you, and arise, go up to Ai. See, I have given into your hand the king of Ai, his people, his city, and his land.” Joshua 8:1 NKJV. Yet after then, God tells him; “point your spear towards the land that you want to take!” Joshua could argue as many Christians do; “but, you said you have given me the land, why do I need to stretch my spear towards the land …why do we even need to fight at all?! We should just walk in and take the land. Why fight at all?!” By the way, understand the fact that stretching a spear forward is not an easy task. It can be very painful. Not to talk of holding it that way throughout the battle! “For Joshua did not withdraw his hand with which he stretched out the spear until he had utterly destroyed all the inhabitants of Ai.” Joshua 8:26 AMP
Stop struggling with demons and difficult situations, let God be your guide always! Whatever God was doing while Joshua stretched forth his spear was God’s business. Joshua never queried that. He simply just obeyed the instruction. When we’re told in Church, “lift up your hands towards Heaven”; some people don’t. “Shout Halleluyah!” “It is time to give”; some just wouldn’t. “Tell the person next to you that he is blessed”; some will just smile without complying. Spiritual instructions come so simply, yet your victory or defeat lies within them!
