WHY IS JESUS PRAYING FOR CHRISTIANS?

_*”My little children, these things I write to you, so that you may not sin. And if anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous. And He Himself is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the whole world.”*_ I John 2:1‭-‬2 NKJV

An advocate is someone who speaks on the behalf of a person or group of persons alledged to have committed a crime. If the sins of all Christians are washed away, why is Jesus praying for them without ceasing, to the Father…?

True, our sins are washed away by the blood of Jesus. But, due to the flesh, the present physical house we occupy, we have transgressions. We have occasional shortcomings. And because the Father wouldn’t tolerate the least of sin, Jesus must constantly intercede for us to avert the judgements due to our wrongs. That is why we call Him Our Great High Priest! Because, He continues to make intercession for us as our High Priest, until He finally comes to take us Home.

As a Christian, if you fall, get back up, genuinely ask for forgiveness and continue your walk with the Lord. This is no licence to deliberately commit sin, you might pay seriously -even with your life for this. Because of the everlasting love that the Father has for us, He has positioned Jesus next to Him, to continually plead on our behalf to Him. Let us not abuse this privilege …and such huge efforts from Jesus! He is right now …as you read this message, praying for you …and me! Worship Him, thank Him, for being such a Great High Priest.

Have you been blessed by this message? …spread the WORD, share with your friends. As it is written; _*”The Lord gave the word: great was the company of those that published it.”*_ -Psalms 68:11 KJV
