DO IT NOW, WHEN YOU CAN
“A woman came to Him having an alabaster flask of very costly fragrant oil, and she poured it on His head as He sat at the table… For in pouring this fragrant oil on My body, she did it for My burial.” -Matthew 26:7, 11-12 NKJV
Have you gotten a message while in a prayer meeting… but, while you were pondering on the message, another person speaks up and delivers that very message to the group? God does that sometimes to teach us “next time, be fast!”
The Mary that anointed Jesus with that very expensive perfume acted when she felt the urge. Although, she didn’t know the future purpose of her action; she just wanted to worship-that’s all! Critics protested when they saw how huge her Offering was (a whole year’s wage! Twelve months wages put-together), poured out on Jesus Christ-just like that?! But, look at the reply of Jesus to her critics: “… He said to them, “Why do you trouble the woman? For she has done a good work for Me. For in pouring this fragrant oil on My body, she did it for My burial. Assuredly, I say to you, wherever this gospel is preached in the whole world, what this woman has done will also be told as a memorial to her.” -Matthew 26:10, 12-13 NKJV. So, her action was to prepare His body for burial, and her reward is global and eternal relevance!
