RECEIVE THEM BACK

“I am sending him back. You therefore receive him, that is, my own heart.” Philemon 1:12 NKJV

So much emphasis should not be laid on offences and people’s unfaithfulness, without considering mercy and forgiveness. As much as we need to look out for quality people in our lives, we also need to consider forgiving those who have hurt us, and receiving them back into our lives; if they’re repentant!

We do not want God to discard us In spite of our numerous sins against Him; yet we are very quick to discard people when they hurt us, probably only once! We quickly go to the public to publicize their offence, as if we have always been saints! No one could be more sincere than Apostle Paul who wrote: “For we ourselves were also once foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving various lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful and hating one another.” Titus 3:3 NKJV. That’s sincerity cum humility!

When anyone comes back repentant after offending you, receive him back! Consider that unprofitable servant, that old friend, that former employee, your estranged wife (or husband), that son or daughter that left home, e.t.c! Whoever they may be, take them back, with your heart and arms! Jesus didn’t throw away His disciples because they deserted Him in His period of trouble; He took them all back-that is love! Emulate your Father in Heaven, on everything you do!
