FOUR ERRORS OF OFFENDED BROTHERS

“Thus says the Lord: “for three transgressions of Edom, and for four, I will not turn away its punishment, because he pursued his brother with the sword, and cast off all pity; his anger tore perpetually, and he kept his wrath forever.”” Amos 1:11 NKJV

  1. THEY PURSUE THEIR BROTHERS WITH THE SWORD: Offended hearts can become dangerous! That’s why the Bible insists on forgiveness, reconciliation, and redress. Because, if you allow offences to drive you instead of mercy and love, you will instantly become destructive. Human lives and valuables will mean little or nothing to you.
  2. OFFENDED HEARTS HAVE NO PITY: Actually, the offended hearts want to rejoice when harm happens to the offenders. If they see the offender suffering, they feel “comforted” or “vindicated”. Be careful when you feel happy about the pains, or the fall, of your “wrong” brothers. Pity the pained!
  3. THEIR ANGER DESTROYS WITHOUT END: If someone asks him two years after the offence happened; ‘what’s happening between you and that fellow?’ From the reply he will give, you will feel the heat of the hatred as if the offence happened just two days ago! Bitterness and disgust naturally engulfs the offended. Yet, people do not know, that bitterness is a destroyer… of the offended, than the offender! Save yourself from destruction first! Forgive that offender!
  4. THEY BANK THEIR WRATH FOREVER: It is Treasures that we should bank, not trash! People can lie to themselves, that they’re being wise to keep certain people at an arm’s lenght. Whereas, God knows that they are doing that because they haven’t forgiven the past faults of the people. Please know, that unforgiveness is a jailer! If you hand him the keys of your life, you’ll be in confinement forever! Yank those keys off his hand! Say, “I am like God my Father, I forgive those that have hurt me, in Jesus mighty name! Amen”.

In Conclusion: Prepare yourself for new things, by removing the garbages of offences from your heart. “And whenever you stand praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive him, that your Father in heaven may also forgive you your trespasses. But if you do not forgive, neither will your Father in heaven forgive your trespasses.” Mark 11:25‭-‬26 NKJV
