DON'T HELP GOD THIS YEAR“So Sarai said to Abram, “See now, the Lord has restrained me from bearing children. Please, go in to my maid; perhaps I shall obtain children by her.” And Abram heeded the voice of Sarai. Then Sarai, Abram’s wife, took Hagar her maid, the Egyptian, and gave her to her husband Abram to be his wife, after Abram had dwelt ten years in the land of Canaan.” Genesis 16:2-3 NKJV
In days of Moses, under the law, a slave was their property. They could do whatever they wanted with a slave; even for the purpose of child bearing. But, in Abram’s case, he was operating under the law of faith for a particular seed, named Isaac. He was supposed to wait for God to fulfill His promise, not to help Him fulfill it! The promise God made to him just a chapter earlier, that he would have his own children through a seed, and that his children would be as numberless as the stars in the sky (Gen 15:5) was God’s plan for Abram, not the proposal of Sarai.
Be careful when your wife suddenly gets persistent over a matter. Be careful of the voice that tells you, “do not verify, do it now!” “Don’t pray about it, just act now!” God doesn’t use that kind of method. He loves to be proven. He likes evidences. He likes proofs. He likes witnesses …in fact, He doesn’t operate without witnesses! From the result that Sarai’s suggestion produced, you would agree with me that satan dropped that idea in her mind. It was not her idea at all! Because, immediately the lady conceived, Sarai saw the enormous mistake she had made. The son that housemaid gave birth to turned out to be Ishmael-The father of the nations and terror groups that are fighting the descendants of Isaac, and threatening the lives of other humans across the globe {Just as God predicted concerning him-Gen 16:12}.
Do not help God this year, please wait for Him to fulfill His promises to you! If He has not given you what you’re looking for, do not look for alternatives. Wait patiently for Him. What ever He has promised you in His word or by rhema cannot fail! He is working on your matter! He will not withhold any good thing from those who walk uprightly (Psalms 84:11).
