“The LORD says to the people of Judah and Jerusalem, “Plough up your unploughed fields; do not sow your seeds among thorns.” Jeremiah 4:3 GNB

Search within and around you. Check for those areas of your life that you have not explored. You may have been succeeding in certain areas of your life, but have left several other areas uncultivated and unexplored.

Look for those songs you wrote but have not produced. Look for the books you wrote but have not published. Check on your friend requests on Facebook, and accept the ones you can. Some strong opportunities might just be there waiting for you to embrace. Do not keep doing the same things that aren’t working, using the same method year in year out. Change your systems, if you need to. Sometimes, you need to even change the places you go, and the people you hang out with. Do something new! Visit new places. Create new friendships.

As the year is rolling by, do an inventory on your life. Evaluate yourself. Check your successes, and ponder over why you failed in certain areas in the past. Self assessment is a must for anyone that is willing to improve. Think on how to be better. Think on how to achieve more in the approaching year. Think of how to be more of a blessing to others. Do not keep pouring water on a piece of rock, expecting it to get soft. Do not plant your seeds among thorns! Make sure you are not wasting efforts and resources in the new year that is approaching. Change your systems, do something new!
