DO NOT FORGET
“For I am the Lord your God. You shall therefore consecrate yourselves, and you shall be holy; for I am holy. Neither shall you defile yourselves … For I am the Lord who brings you up out of the land of Egypt, to be your God. You shall therefore be holy, for I am holy.” Leviticus 11:44-45 NKJV
It is great to keep your eyes fixed on the things that are above, where Christ is sitted in the Heavens; but it is equally great to not forget where God picked you from!
Egypt does not represent a land where the children of Israel spent their vacation or traveled to for business reasons. Egypt reminded them of limitations, lamentations, bondage, confusion, darknesss, and shortages! What does your own past remind you of? What was your life before Christ saved you?? Would you like to go back there?! …If not, please consecrate yourself!
God clearly told the children of Israel to not forget that He saved them from the land of bondage, so that He could be their God. He told them: ‘set yourselves apart to me! Be holy! I brought you out of the land of bondage, so that I could be your God. You shall therefore be holy, because I am holy.’ Do not ever forget this truth: “… you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light; who once were not a people but are now the people of God, who had not obtained mercy but now have obtained mercy.” I Peter 2:9-10 NKJV.

Gracious God, thank you! I appreciate you for delivering me from the power of darkness, and translating me into the kingdom of light, the Kingdom of your dear Son, Jesus Christ! Father, I am yours, spirit, soul, and body; in Jesus’ mighty name. Amen!
