“Therefore He is also able to save to the uttermost those who come to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them.” Hebrews 7:25 NKJV

What is intercession? And what is the meaning of intercessory prayers? To intercede means to intervene on behalf of someone or some people. To offer intercessory prayer is to speak to GOD for someone or some people.

See it clearly from this verse: “Therefore He is able also to save forever (completely, perfectly, for eternity) those who come to God through Him, since He always lives to intercede and intervene on their behalf [with God].” HEBREWS 7:25 AMP. I have escaped sudden death and horrible dangers by the whiskers, because someone interceded for me. One of such incidents happened in 2005. I was in Kwara State of Nigeria, Ilorin. GOD told a young man to fast and pray for three days, basically for me. That intercession saved my life from a ghastly motor accident!

Jesus didn’t just bring us to GOD, He is intervening and interceding for us without stopping. He is our Great High Priest, who presently is speaking to GOD on our behalf. Just as Aaron wore the names of the twelve tribes of Israel on his chest as he approached GOD, so does Jesus perpetually present our case to GOD. This is not to make you relax prayerfully, but to let you know that someone is covering the gaps for you. It is good to have prayer partners. Don’t discourage those who are speaking to GOD on your behalf. And you too should pray mentioning people to GOD, that is also called intercession. We all need prayers. Remember, even Jesus requested for intercessory prayers from His followers. He is praying for you now, you are not by yourself. Jesus, The Great High Priest is interceding for you. You will finish well!
