CONSIDER THIS WHEN PRAYING TO GOD

“Then God said to Solomon: “because this was in your heart, and you have not asked riches or wealth or honor or the life of your enemies, nor have you asked long life—but have asked wisdom and knowledge for YOURSELF, THAT YOU MAY JUDGE MY PEOPLE over whom I have made you king.” II Chronicles 1:11 NKJV {Emphasis mine}

Nothing is more tiring than praying without getting results! That is why the Bible says: “hope deferred makes the heart sick, but when the desire comes, it is a tree of life.” Proverbs 13:12 NKJV. Until we learn how to align our desires with God’s purposes and will, we might linger longer in the place of prayer! “You ask and do not receive, because you ask amiss, that you may spend it on your pleasures.” James 4:3 NKJV.

God clearly stated why Solomon’s prayer would get instant and unprecedented answer: because he sought wisdom and understanding for himself; in order to serve God’s people! Do you ask for more money, in order to support God’s work, or you just want to break a record in your family tree? Why do you need what you’re asking God for?

What Solomon did not ask for, God still gave to him as bonus; for praying the right way: “Wisdom and knowledge are granted to you; and I will give you riches and wealth and honor, such as none of the kings have had who were before you, nor shall any after you have the like.” II Chronicles 1:12 NKJV. If you want quick and huge answers from God when you pray, put your desires inside His desires!
