BEFORE YOU SHAKE HANDS, PRAY!

“Then the men of Israel took some of their provisions; but they did not ask counsel of the Lord “ Joshua 9:14 NKJV

As Believers in God, we have a rule to ask for God’s counsel in every thing we do before we embark upon them. We are not permitted to depend upon our five senses to determine what we should do or not do. As Believers, before we make affinity with anyone or any organization for whatever purpose; we are expected to enquire from God first.

Joshua and the Elders of Israel judged the Gibeonites by their speeches and by the “evidences” they presented, instead of asking the Lord to tell them whom they really were. They ended up being deceived! The Gibeonites were among the nations Israel was supposed to destroy. In three days, the Israelites would have arrived in their city. But, the Gibeonites lied to them that they had come from a very far country. They showed them dry breads, worn out shoes, broken bottles etc as “evidences” of their long journey, and the Israelite leaders believed them. The Amplified version says; “So the men [of Israel] took some of their own provisions [and offered them in friendship], and [foolishly] did not ask for the counsel of the Lord.” Joshua 9:14 AMP. It is foolish for Believers to not ask counsel from God before joining themselves in partnership to anyone. Either for business, marriage, or ministry.

If you pray concerning a new relationship, God can either speak directly to you, or He would prompt people to give you the needed information concerning that person or the group of persons you are about to join yourself to. “By the mouth of two or three, the truth shall be established!” Don’t often throw away what people tell you about someone or some organizations. Collect the information and test every thing! “Do not scorn or reject gifts of prophecy or prophecies [spoken revelations—words of instruction or exhortation or warning]. But test all things carefully [so you can recognize what is good]. Hold firmly to that which is good.” 1 Thessalonians 5:20‭-‬21 AMP. All these verifications are for your safety! Mind whom you bring close, and be careful what you join yourself into! Wisdom demands that you acknowledge God in every thing you do, and He will direct your paths.

PLEASE, DON’T MISS THE FIRST FLIGHT! Rapture will soon happen!

Accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior now, if you haven’t. If you backslidded because of sin, re-dedicate your life to Jesus now!

“Come now, and let us reason together, saith the Lord: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.” Isaiah 1:18 KJV
