REBUKE HIM

“Take heed to yourselves. If your brother sins against you, rebuke him; and if he repents, forgive him.” Luke 17:3 NKJV

Hypocrites are the only ones who don’t ever get offended! You might even hear them say “I don’t get angry”, or “no one can offend me”. These are liars! Even God gets offended. God gets angry! If you displease Him, He will react! So, who are you, being a human, to assume an ability that is beyond God’s character?!

God knows that people will do wrong things around you, or towards you! To pretend as if nothing is wrong when there is an obvious error is to be a hypocrite. Jesus said; “pay attention and always be on guard [looking out for one another]! If your brother sins and disregards God’s precepts, solemnly warn him; and if he repents and changes, forgive him.” Luke 17:3 AMP. He didn’t say look away and pretend there is no offence. He said, rebuke (solemnly warn) your friend! When your friend sins, either against God, or against another human, what do you do?? Do you smile and say, “it is okay… to err is human?” Or you frankly correct and guide aright?

“Brethren, if anyone among you wanders from the truth, and someone turns him back, let him know that he who turns a sinner from the error of his way will save a soul from death and cover a multitude of sins.” James 5:19-20 NKJV. So, you’re not being “judgemental” when you correct your brother or sister when they are wrong. You’re actually being kind enough to not want them to perish in their error; that is genuine love! To pretend that nothing wrong has happened is to be a wicked person and a hypocrite; because that shows you have no care for the destiny of that brother or sister. So, be kind enough to correct your loved ones when they are wrong… do not look away!
