        WALK IN THE WORD

“But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin.” I John 1:7 NKJV

How does a Christian walk in the light? How does a Christian have fellowship with GOD? Walking in the light simply means you do what the word of GOD says you should do concerning every situation. Any other step you take outside the word of GOD is a step in the dark. Having fellowship with GOD simply means be one with Him in every situation. People mistake oneness with GOD for prayers. You can be praying vigorously yet be in opposition to GOD. Praying doesn’t mean oneness, or fellowship with GOD.

“If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth.” 1 John 1:6. What is darkness? Darkness can mean guess work. Groping to find your way. Darkness can also mean carrying out the devil’s wishes (knowingly or unknowingly). Any step or decision you make outside the word of GOD is a walk in the dark. “Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.” Psalms 119:105.

To be in fellowship with GOD daily, make sure your decisions are always based on His words. Remember what Jesus said in Matthew 7:24? “Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and DOETH THEM, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock” Don’t just know the word of GOD, do it. If you do the word, and walk the word, you have fellowship with GOD -The Great Light Himself. Your sins will also be constantly washed by the blood of Jesus, as you mistakenly commit them and ask for forgiveness, because light exposes wrongs. So, no matter what you are going through, stick with the word of GOD if you want to remain in the light and retain your fellowship with GOD.
