      WHOSE LOAD ARE YOU CARRYING?

“Bear ye one another’s burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ.” -Galatians 6:2 KJV

In the Kingdom of God, we do not use the slogan: “every man for himself, God for us all.” No! Here in God’s kingdom, we are one another’s keepers. In verse five of that same study chapter, we see: “For every man shall bear his own burden.” Galatians 6:5 KJV. The burden in verse two is not the same as verse five. Their meanings are different. You will discover that if you read the whole chapter. The scriptures will never contradict themselves.

The “burden” in verse two is a Greek word pronounced “bar’-os”; which means load or weight. While the “burden” in verse five is another Greek word pronounced “for-tee’-on”; which means task, work or service. For clarity, the first verse would say; “assist one another to carry their loads or heavy weights, and so fulfill the law of Christ-which is love”. While the second verse says; “for every one shall do his own work, or task”.

While doing your work, if you see your brother or sister struggling to carry their heavy loads, do not pass by because you are busy. Stop by, give a helping hand! Lend some assistance to those in need of it. Do not ever mock struggling Believers, or ridicule challenged Ministers of God. If you have, do what ever you can to help them. Yet, do not abandone your own tasks or work!
