WHAT IS THE WEIGHT OF YOUR OFFERING?“And he saw also a certain poor widow casting in thither two mites. And he said, Of a truth I say unto you, that this poor widow hath cast in more than they all: For all these have of their abundance cast in unto the offerings of God: but she of her penury hath cast in all the living that she had.” Luke 21:2-4 KJV
GOD pays more attention to quality than to quantity. Number surely matters in matters of the Kingdom, but substance must not be played down. The rich giving some out of surplus aren’t doing upto what the person who gave the smallest but her best has done.
GOD doesnt judge after the manner of men. Men focus on what they see with their eyes, but GOD concentrates on the heart. The person who closed her account, she emptied her purse, she gave all her livelihood as an offering to worship GOD, she has obviously done more than those who kept much back for themselves. That is how love is weighed!
King David was truly a man after GOD’s heart. “But the king said to Araunah, “No. I’ve got to buy it from you for a good price; I’m not going to offer God, my God, sacrifices that are no sacrifice.” 2 Samuel 24:24 MSG. If it doesnt shake him, he would not offer it! Some so called sacrifices look like alms in the sight of GOD, and GOD is not a beggar! You dont give alms to GOD, you should give alms to beggars-not to GOD. What you give GOD is sacrifice. Something substantial because He is a King, your Creator, not a beggar! So, always check what you’re giving to GOD. Either in service, offerings, or worship. Be sure that you’re giving Him your best all the time, else, you might as well be shortchanging yourself.
