“Then the Lord spoke to Moses in the plains of Moab by the Jordan [across from] Jericho, saying, “Command the Israelites to give to the Levites cities to live in from the inheritance of their possession; and you shall give to the Levites pasture lands around the cities.” Numbers 35:1‭-‬2 AMP

Whenever some Christians read scriptures like these, they are quick to say, “but that was in the Old Testament!” Okay, fasting was in the Old Testament too, but we still fast now in the New!! Praying was in Old Testament, but we still pray now, in the New. What about loving people, giving to the needy, show of kindness, forgiveness, show of mercy, respect for parents, payment of wages as at when due etc. When you read God’s word, don’t focus on the letters. Focus on the Spirit behind the letters. Or else, you would miss the message from God to you!

The Levites were instructed by God to separate themselves for spiritual services to their brethren, all the days of their lives! Besides that, the lands that God gave to the Isrealites as inheritances, He gave nothing to the Levites. He said He was THEIR PORTION!! But, in His wisdom, He asked Moses to tell the Israelites to give from their portions of lands to the Levites, because they were the ones being served by the Levites, concerning spiritual matters. That is how the people will be continually blessed …as they give to those who minister to them. Apostle Paul {in the New Testament} exclaimed: “If we have sown [the good seed of] spiritual things in you, is it too much if we reap material things from you? Do you not know that those who officiate in the sacred services of the temple eat from the temple [offerings of meat and bread] and those who regularly attend the altar have their share from the [offerings brought to the] altar? So also [on the same principle] the Lord directed those who preach the gospel to get their living from the gospel.” 1 Corinthians 9:11‭, ‬13‭-‬14 AMP.

So, I ask you again; WHAT DO YOU GIVE TO THOSE WHO SERVE YOU SPIRITUALLY? Do you divide your portions of blessings with your Pastor? What have you separated specially for your Prophet? Do you ensure your Apostle doesn’t lack, just as you do not lack in your own household? Do not allow skeptics to rob you of the opportunities of being more blessed by God. If anyone has blessed or served you spiritually, bless him or her back, with your material or financial blessings. That is God’s will, that is His method! I hope you’d act on this knowledge.
