WE CAN ALL BE MEEK

“Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth.” Matthew 5:5 NKJV

The wise will never mistake meekness for weakness. I assume that people who could have been meek choose pride and arrogance, because they feel meekness will portray them as weak. So, you’d find people with raised shoulders, lifted noses, high looks, haughty hearts, etc.

The opposite of meekness is pride, arrogance, or self-assertiveness! Anyone with prideful or arrogant character is viewed by God as an enemy! God pushes them out… and down! “Likewise you younger people, submit yourselves to your elders. Yes, all of you be submissive to one another, and be clothed with humility, for “God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble.”” I Peter 5:5 NKJV. God’s Word goes further to say: “Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time.” I Peter 5:6 NKJV.

Do not ask God to humble you, do it by yourself! He often doesn’t handle arrogance lightly! Deliberately dress yourself with humility. Refrain from words that will suggest you are puffed up when talking to people, or God! Do not compare yourself unnecessarily with people to show you’re better or richer than them. Humility is a good virtue that we can all learn: “… learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.” Matthew 11:29 NKJV

PROFESS🙏:
Father, thank you for this knowledge. I refuse arrogant and prideful behaviors, I choose humility. I walk and talk with meekness, everyday of my life, in Jesus’ mighty name I declare. Amen!
