“And David built there an altar to the Lord, and offered burnt offerings and peace offerings, and called on the Lord; and He answered him from heaven by fire on the altar of burnt offering.” I Chronicles 21:26 NKJV

The Lord that answers by fire is the God of sacrifices! When we talk about sacrifices to God, we are not talking about monetary sacrifices alone. There are people who have offered their entire lives as sacrifice on the altar of ministry. There are people who sacrificed their time, talents, family relationships, career, properties e.t.c for the sake of the Kingdom of God and its gospel. Such are the people that God answers by fire?, do not mess with them!

David had everything given to him free of charge to sacrifice to the Lord, but he declined. He said; _*“… No, but I will surely buy it for the full price, for I will not take what is yours for the Lord, nor offer burnt offerings with that which costs me nothing.”*_ I Chronicles 21:24 NKJV. Those who like “freebies” have very light weight in the realms of the spirit. Those are people who do not want to lose any thing or lose any one in their services to God or men. Even fasting is difficult for them to observe, because they do not want to hurt their stomachs. To command the powers of the supernatural, you must be ready to offer painful sacrifices!

Elijah could easily call down fire because he had offered his entire life for God’s services. Gideon saw fire, after he had offered his sacrifice to the Lord. Sacrfice is the reason that God would destroy a rude person to protect or justify his servant! What are you offering to God? What have you sacrificed in favor of God’s Kingdom and His Gospel? If you want God to answer your prayers by fire?, offer the required sacrifices!
