THE IMMINENT FUTURE OF BACKSLIDDERS
“For the turning away of the naive will kill them, and the careless ease of [self-righteous] fools will destroy them.” -Proverbs 1:32 AMP
Those who stick with God and their Spiritual Leaders, regardless of their circumstances, are not fools! Orpah and Ruth had the options of either to follow Naomi and her God; or to return home to worship their native idols. Ruth chose to follow Naomi. Naomi diligently painted a future that looked bleak, yet Ruth insisted she would follow her still; come rain or shine! Ruth vehemently told Naomi: “… don’t urge me to leave you or to turn back from you. Where you go I will go, and where you stay I will stay. Your people will be my people and your God my God. Where you die I will die, and there I will be buried. May the Lord deal with me, be it ever so severely, if even death separates you and me.” -Ruth 1:16-17 NIV. On hearing that, Naomi (and God) knew that Ruth had made up her mind to follow-no matter what!!
I wish we could send this message to those who walk away from their Pastors and Prophets; basically because a dog barked at them in front of the church-gate. I wish Ruth could mentor this generation of “Plastic-Believers”! Yes, they are plastic because they melt so easily under the smallest of heats! Think about Ruth placing herself under a curse to affirm her followership! The Bible says, those who turn away will get destroyed by their simplicity, and the fools that praise themselves will be vanquished! Orpah {the one that turned back} faded away into history, but Ruth, moved forward to shine forever! She became one of the ancestors of the Great King David, and of Jesus Christ our Lord-because she was a reckless follower!
Why have you left your Pastor? Why did you pull-away from that ministry? What wrong has your Spiritual Leader done to you? Is your reason for leaving genuine and strong enough to be published in the open? Or is it some little “gossips” in your head? I have walked with God for decades, and I have read a few books from Messengers of God, believe me; there is no successful backslidder! Every one of those that turn back go downward! According to God’s word! The Servants of God I have submitted to since I became a Believer still have my complete loyalty till date-no issues between us! Please, do a conference with yourself today. Put God’s word between you and the ministry you are displeased with… who is wrong? Before it becomes too late; return to your Spiritual Leader. Don’t destroy yourself! God won’t bend, or break His Word to please anyone. Save yourself by returning to His Word, and to His Messenger. Do it today! For life or death, the choice will always remain yours.
