*WORD & POWER for TODAY*
… enlightening your human spirit.
NO COMPETITION, BUT COMPLEMENTS IN GOD’S KINGDOM
“Your wives, your little ones, and your livestock shall remain in the land which Moses gave you on this side of the Jordan. But you shall pass before your brethren armed, all your mighty men of valor, and HELP THEM, UNTIL THE LORD HAS GIVEN YOUR BRETHREN REST, AS HE GAVE YOU, and they also have taken possession of the land which the Lord your God is giving them. Then you shall return to the land of your possession and enjoy it, which Moses the Lord’s servant gave you on this side of the Jordan toward the sunrise.” Joshua 1:14-15 {Emphasis are mine}
There are marketing terms and nomenclatures that the church of today has imported from the world; and these are affecting how we operate, or see ourselves. When a church says they have the best auditorium, best choir, best seats, or best parking lot… who are they comparing themselves with?? Certainly, the other churches around them! Is that why we exist?!
In the world, they compete, and if possible they destroy themselves to win! They are doing all that only to win perishable crowns or trophies! In the Kingdom of God, we do not compete, we complement, so we should not destroy ourselves! We all have one primary goal, and that is, the salvation of the world! Joshua told his followers, you will have to leave your wives and children behind; deploy your mighty men of valour, arm them with weapons, so that you can help your brothers to possess their own lands too. You cannot rest until your brethren possess their lands and have rest, like you! How many church leaders talk like that today?? Not so many! In my few journeys in the mission fields, I have met brothers and sisters in Christ whose sole aim is to serve the Kingdom of God. They will discomfort themselves to support and make sure the missionary works are done well, without taking any glory for their church or for themselves. I have also seen those who operate like businessmen and women. These will try to even take advantage of the missionary, because their aim is to get physical and material things… not spiritual!
We must return to the Bible to put our principles right; instead of learning the systems of the selfish and wicked world that we live in. “Now the company of believers was of one heart and soul, and not one [of them] claimed that anything belonging to him was [exclusively] his own, but everything was common property and for the use of all.” Acts 4:32 AMP. If our destination is Heaven, the Bible must be our map! “By this everyone will know that you are My disciples, if you have love and unselfish concern for one another.” John 13:35 AMP
