“Now David was greatly distressed, for the people spoke of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was grieved, every man for his sons and his daughters. But David strengthened himself in the Lord his God.” I Samuel 30:6 NKJV

If your followers have never broken your heart, lied about you, betrayed you, abandoned you when you needed them most, gossipped you, misunderstood your intentions, nor thought of fighting you for their loss; then your training on Leadership is not yet complete-wait for it!

It is when your followers lose anything on the account of their following you, that you will know whether they are your disciples or just wonderful members of your association! Wait until they need to lose their time, reputation, loved ones, or money. The disciples of Jesus didn’t abandon Him because they hated Him as a person; they left Him because they feared for their lives! “… they all forsook Him and fled.” Mark 14:50 NKJV

If it is fans that you’re looking for, forget about True Disciples! Don’t make your followers your source of strength; that should be exclusively for God! Don’t curse people because they left you or stoned you: consider their spiritual stamina and level of understanding. Take comfort in the fact that your God is with you!
