HOW HE MISSED MARRYING SISTER RUTH

“The closest relative (redeemer) said, “I cannot redeem it for myself, because [by marrying a Moabitess] I would jeopardize my own inheritance. Take my right of redemption (purchase) yourself, because I cannot redeem it.” Ruth 4:6 AMP

How many good and wonderful relationships have we lost because we viewed them through the lens of yesteryears?! Boaz wanted Sister Ruth; but someone had more right to marry her than he did. Money wasn’t the problem of that man, because he was willing to buy the plot of land, even though the proposal for him to buy it came impromptu. He was willing to play the role of the kinsman redeemer, as long as Ruth wasn’t part of the equation.

He judged Ruth based on the instruction that Moses the Man of God had given them in the past: “An Ammonite or Moabite shall not enter the assembly of the Lord; even to the tenth generation none of his descendants shall enter the assembly of the Lord forever, because they did not meet you with bread and water on the road when you came out of Egypt, and because they hired against you Balaam the son of Beor from Pethor of Mesopotamia, to curse you.” Deuteronomy 23:3‭-‬4 NKJV. This is one of the reasons that Jesus had issues with the Jewish leaders. They just wouldn’t think whenever they see the law. They should have focused on the “why” than on the “don’t”. Why did God say, don’t allow them into your midst?! The Ammonites and Moabites mistreated Israel in the past. But, here is another Moabite who has shown kindness. She has given bread, water, and in fact, her entire life! She has sacrificed so much. She left her family members, and her gods, to worship the Living God. She had told Naomi,,”your people shall be my people, and your God my God!” But, that Kinsman redeemer still focused on the past! He said; “I’d ruin my inheritance if I marry her”.

We have Christians who would just not see you as God presently sees you. They have vowed with their minds to relate with you as if you are still the person they used to know. They think you are not born again or repentant yet! But, Boaz went on to marry Ruth. They produced Obed, Obed gave birth to Jesse, Jesse became the father of Great King David… and eventually, Jesus came from that same lineage too! That man’s name faded away into history, but Boaz’s name became popular in Israel and beyond (as the women prayed for him- Ruth 4:14). Have respect for people’s decisions and sacrifices… you might be building an unending blessing for yourself.

PLEASE, DON’T MISS THE FIRST FLIGHT! Rapture will soon happen!

Accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior now, if you haven’t. If you backslidded because of sin, re-dedicate your life to Jesus now!

“Come now, and let us reason together, saith the Lord: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.” Isaiah 1:18 KJV
