WHAT MEN TELL GOD IN THE SECRET
“Then he said to Jesus,“Lord, remember me when You come into Your kingdom.” And Jesus said to him,“Assuredly, I say to you, today you will be with Me in Paradise.” -Luke 23:42-43 NKJV
The people of Jericho would think that Rahab {the harlot} also preished with them when the Israelites invaded the land. They didn’t know she made a secret pact with God’s people when they came to spy the land. The Philistines were inside the same hall with Samson, when he whispered their death to God. Those that saw the thief on the right side of Jesus being nailed to the cross would think he died in his sins. They must have thought he had gone “straight-to-hell”. They won’t find him there! Halleluyah!! Because, he whispered something to The Savior on the cross!
When Jesus said that harlots and sinners would enter the kingdom of God ahead of the religious folks; he didn’t mean that they would enter Heaven with their sins (Matthew 21:28-31). What He meant is that, while the religious folks are busy parading their “perfectionism” and their self-righteousness, the known sinners would have repented of their sins and turned to God without their knowledge.
Please, since God doesn’t tell you what He discusses with people in their closets, be cautious with your conclusions on people. That seemingly poor fellow today can become your life-saver tomorrow. The sister you “caught-in-the-act” yesterday may have got her sins washed-away overnight, while you were asleep! God is slow to wrath but rich in mercies: “The Lord is gracious and full of compassion, slow to anger and great in mercy”. -Psalms 145:8 NKJV. Have the mind of Christ, and you will see people through a different lens. When you love humans the way God loves them, your view about life will be different. In the secret place, a lot of things happen between God and men! So, be cautious. Praise God!
