FUNCTIONING BY THE WORD AND POWER
“For our gospel came not unto you in word only, but also in power, and in the Holy Ghost, and in much assurance; as ye know what manner of men we were among you for your sake.” 1 Thessalonians 1:5 KJV
If your emphasis rest too much on either the Word of God, or on the demonstration of the Power of the Holy Ghost, your ministry is lopsided!
Don’t say, those Preachers who demonstrate the power of God are called into the “power ministry”; and you? You are called into the “letter” ministry?! Neither should you say, “I don’t know the word, and I can’t preaching it, I am not a Teacher!” Every Believer and Preacher must study the Word of God, to show themselves approved! I am not saying we won’t do beyond ourselves in certain areas, but our word ministry must be sound, as well as our power ministry! Experience taught me, that if what you are preaching or teaching is God’s undiluted Word (not logics, human principles and philosophies); the Holy Spirit will move voluntarily! The Holy Spirit is always around a Spirit-filled person or ministry; looking for the Word of God to confirm! His ministry is to proof or affirm that the Gospel is true!! While Peter was yet speaking, the Holy Spirit fell upon everyone in Cornelius’ house. I am sure, even Peter was shocked! “While Peter yet spake these words, the Holy Ghost fell on all them which heard the word.” Acts 10:44 KJV
If your teaching or preaching feel dry and lifeless, such that people fall off their chairs while dozing off under your ministry, don’t settle for the lie that it is because you are not called into the “power ministry”. My friend, please throw yourself into vigorous prayer and fasting! Demons blow sleep into people’s faces, if there is no power in a teaching ministry! This is not about noise making, or screaming at the top of your lungs while ministering. I’m speaking of literal fire 🔥 of the Holy Ghost, present to confirm that what you’re teaching or preaching is The Truth! Mark 16:20 KJV “And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following. Amen.”
