WORD & POWER for TODAY
… enlightening your human spirit.
DO NOT BE DECEIVED
“[24] Then Pharaoh called to Moses and said, “go, serve the Lord; only let your flocks and your herds be kept back. Let your little ones also go with you.” [25] But Moses said, “you must also give us sacrifices and burnt offerings, that we may sacrifice to the Lord our God. [26] Our livestock also shall go with us; not a hoof shall be left behind. For we must take some of them to serve the Lord our God, and even we do not know with what we must serve the Lord until we arrive there.” Exodus 10:24-26 NKJV
I know you must have heard Preachers who talk like Pharaoh just did in the texts above. They tell you to go ahead and serve The LORD your God, you and your children; but do not go with offerings and sacrifices! These Preachers are very good with words, smooth, persuasive, and sanctimonious in their aggression. You would think they have your interest at heart! They talk like they don’t want you to waste your resources. They tell you: “keep your money, God does not need anything from you!” Believe me, they are liars!!
Moses did not mince words in replying Pharaoh. He told him: ‘so when we get to where we would worship our God, will you give us sacrifices and offerings to offer to Him?! You’re telling us to go and “serve” our God, with empty hands?! No way! It is a MUST that we give from what we have to our God in the form of sacrifices and offerings. In fact, we do not know the quantity we might be required to give until we get to the place of worship! We are open to whatever our God desires!’ This is how genuine Christians should respond when they’re being told or taught to “serve” God without giving offerings and sacrifices!
Those who teach or preach against giving of offerings, payment of tithes, and offering of sacrifices to God are not your friends. They are actually your enemies! Yes, their messages sound “FREE” and impressive, but they are poisons! It is very easy to sell poison to humans… Just say it is free-of-charge, they will rush you!! Dear friend, be careful with what you consume. If you are a believer in God Almighty, understand that giving is not a subject that we debate. Giving in Christianity, to those who are wise, is a MUST!
