WORD & POWER for TODAY
… enlightening your human spirit.
HOW GOD DISTINGUISHES PEOPLE FROM PEOPLE
“Now therefore, if you will indeed obey My voice and keep My covenant, then you shall be a special treasure to Me above all people; for all the earth is Mine.” Exodus 19:5 NKJV
God’s Word is the standard by which He chooses those He wants to promote or celebrate. He looks for those who keep to His word. You too would treat the child that obeys your instructions specially; wouldn’t you?! You wouldn’t parade or introduce a rebellious child in the public, because he or she might cause you shame!
It is not partiality for God to put His honor on certain individuals, or group of persons. It is simply right, and well deserving of such people. God has vowed to honor those who honor Him: *”Therefore the Lord God of Israel says: ‘I said indeed that your house and the house of your father would walk before Me forever.’ But now the Lord says: ‘far be it from Me; for those who honor Me I will honor, and those who despise Me shall be lightly esteemed.”* I Samuel 2:30 NKJV.
You don’t need to pray for God to put honor and glory on you, simply be a practitioner of His word, and He will bless you and put His honor upon you! Read, *“Now it shall come to pass, if you diligently obey the voice of the Lord your God, to observe carefully all His commandments which I command you today, that the Lord your God will set you high above all nations of the earth. And all these blessings shall come upon you and overtake you, because you obey the voice of the Lord your God.”* Deuteronomy 28:1-2 NKJV. While people are arguing and cherry-picking what section of God’s word to obey or do, you are just busy doing the word! You won’t do it in vain! James 1:25 AMP *”But he who looks carefully into the perfect law, the law of liberty, and faithfully abides by it, not having become a [careless] listener who forgets but an active doer [who obeys], he will be blessed and favored by God in what he does [in his life of obedience].”* Greatness and glory is your destiny, if you put God’s Word before you.
