WORD&POWER for TODAY, UNDERSTAND GOD'S WILL, BEFORE YOU PRAY 18th June, 2019“If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.” John 15:7 KJV
When the Lord said if we abide in Him and His words abide in us, we would ask whatever we would and it would be done unto us. He wasn’t talking about cramming the scriptures and then pointing to any car of our choice on the road. He wasn’t talking about making incessant requests just because we are Christians and have memorized His words.
What Jesus was talking about here is fellowship. If you live in Him, and His words live in you, you will know His will before you open your mouth to ask for anything. Through your fellowship with Him, and His words, you would know His mind concerning every situation. Many Christians wonder why they do not get answers to their prayers. They quote scriptures, and are always in Church, but when they pray, you would wonder if they have any fellowship with Jesus. How does a Pastor pray for a fraudster to prosper?? Or for a prostitute to excel in her business?? “AND THIS IS THE CONFIDENCE THAT WE HAVE IN HIM, THAT, IF WE ASK ANY THING ACCORDING TO HIS WILL, HE HEARETH US.” 1 John 5:14 KJV.
Your fellowship with Him and His word will make you know His mind over every situation. Such that before you open your mouth to pray, you’d know that your answer is already on the way. He is not a man to tell lies. If He says that whatever you ask in His name would be done for you, He means it! So, as you fellowship with Him and feed on the scriptures, read His mind. Understand what He really wants. That will help your prayer life to be productive and effective.
