WOMEN SHOULD BE ALLOWED TO PREACH

“It was Mary Magdalene, Joanna, Mary the mother of James, and the other women with them, who told these things to the apostles. And their words seemed to them like idle tales, and they did not believe them.” Luke 24:10-11 NKJV

The first bearers of the Gospel were women! They heard the Gospel first, and they also preached it first. In fact, their first audience was the eleven Apostles! When Jesus resurrected, the ladies had gone to His tomb to apply perfumes on His body, according to the Jewish custom, only to be met by an angel who told them: *”He is not here; for HE IS RISEN, as He said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay. And GO QUICKLY AND TELL His disciples that HE IS RISEN from the dead, and indeed He is going before you into Galilee; there you will see Him. Behold, I have told you.”* Matthew 28:6-7 NKJV [Emphasis are mine]. There is no other Gospel or Good News that is more powerful than: “HE IS RISEN!” The angel told the women to “go quickly and tell” that “HE IS RISEN”!

Just in case you wish to say, ‘but, that was an angel telling them to go and tell, not Jesus Himself’! Please, read this: *”And as they went to tell His disciples, behold, Jesus met them, saying, “rejoice!” So they came and held Him by the feet and worshiped Him. Then Jesus said to them, “DO NOT BE AFRAID. GO AND TELL My brethren to go to Galilee, and there they will see Me.”* Matthew 28:9-10 NKJV [Emphasis are mine]. If Jesus could trust the ladies to announce His resurrection, there is no reason why they should be stopped from preaching or teaching God’s word!

To understand why Apostle Paul told the women to be silent in church and learn at home, you have to understand the four gaps that you must consider when studying the scriptures. These gaps are: historical gap, cultural gap, philosophical gap, and language gap! Because, in some other portions of Apostle Paul’s own letters, he acknowledged and praised women who were ministers of the Gospel. Read: Romans 16:1-2, Romans 16:3, Romans 16: 6-7, Philippians 4:3. If the Jews at Shushan-Persia had rejected the ministry of Esther when she instructed them to fast for three days, they would have perished in Persia (known as Iran today)! Give the ladies room to serve their God! And if you’re a lady reading this message, do not allow anyone to despise your gender! *”There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus.”* Galatians 3:28 NKJV
