APPROACH PEOPLE

“And Joseph came in to them in the morning and looked at them, and saw that they were sad. So he asked Pharaoh’s officers who were with him in the custody of his lord’s house, saying, “why do you look so sad today?” -Genesis 40:6-7 NKJV

A preacher once said: “a closed mouth is a closed destiny!” Meaning, if you refuse to speak, you will close your doors of opportunities to succeed; through your silence!

Who would have thought, that the conversation that Joseph had with the butler and the baker inside the prison would eventually lead to Joseph being promoted, and enthroned in Egypt? …a regular conversation like any other day!

Please, show concern for people! It was concern and compassion that drove Joseph to care about the countenance of those gentlemen. He asked them why they were sad that day. Meaning, he knew them to be vibrant and lively at other times. Then, they told him why they were sad… they had dreamed, and they had no one to interprete their dreams. Joseph realized he had the solution to their worry! He ministered to them… eventually, he was recommended, ending up to become the most powerful man in Egypt; apart from Pharaoh!

Speak up… Speak out! Show concern when you see people are hurting. Don’t just tell them to “go and pray”, or “look-for-solution”, by themselves. Discuss with them. Provide solution if you have it! That solution you are providing might be your ladder to greater heights in life!
